Do I need to uninstall the several malware programs on my computer before I install a software firewall? I also have microsoft security essentials running.

Yes. The whole point of installing a Firewall is to keep unwanted Malware/people out.
Just curious is there a reason you haven't uninstalled the Malware on your computer yet?
