Firewire HDD + Firewire Video device on IEEE 1394+USB 2.0 ..

I am using a Belkin Firewire USB 2.0 combo PCI card to connect to an external
firewire HDD and firewire video input device (canopus advc-100) for video
capture and storage. Prior to SP2 I was able to manage both the devices on
the same pci card working at the same time with some difficulty and luck.
After installing SP2 I am no longer able to have my ext HDD and Digital Video
device working simultaneously. The video device is knocking out the HDD most
of the time, and itself getting connected and disconnected in about 3-4
minutes.
Any help is appreciated.

My Firewire drives worked fine prior to SP@ as well. Now
they are not recognized at all. Since my backup is on the
Firewire drive, I can't even revert to SP1. MS fix this
and hurry.

Does anyone know if this problem is going to be fixed as
I am unable to use ANY firewire device since installing
SP2

The 'problem' is likely to be with your machine not with SP2. If the
devices work for a time then fail, it appears that the card may not be able
to provide sufficient power to two devices simultaneously. Can you provide
power to the HDD from another source?

So why did everything work ok until I installed SP2??

I only have one drive (My DVD Writer) running on Firewire,
If I plug it in my USB2 port it works fine.

Why did it work before SP2, I don't know, but as I understand it when you
plug two devices into the card after a short period of time you have a
problem. If they work, then you don't have a driver problem, agreed?
Devices that 'work' then fail usually fail due to power problems, and tyhat
is what I am sugesting to you. If you are powering both devices from the
card, I suggested you tried powqering one or both from an alternative
source, did you try that?

You have now introduced a DVD player into the discussion. Where did that
come from? Initially, you said you were having problems with a firewire HDD
and a video input device. I assume the firewire DVD is being supplied with
power from a USB port, is that correct? It may be that you need to do the
same with the HDD.
