I did notice you changed the os to windows 7, do I need that to run windows 8?

One more thing, read this about the Video Card you have chosen,

"Cons: not plug-n-play (using windows 8)...had to do driver installs and configuring (software wise), but this was expected"

what exactly does this mean if I want to run windows 8?

windows 8 has better options to scale a desktop across multiple screens so its probably your better choice

The 7770 could be the card. Just check that the mix of connectors on the back will work with your monitors . If your monitor only has DVI you will need display port adapters

I would tend to spend more on a quieter case

thanks for the reply, I am coming from a macbook so I did want windows 8 as the OS, looks pretty cool to me

the monitor's I plan to buy have dvi and vga so yes I guess I would need adapters,

do you have any cases in mind for that price point? the Rosewill challanger any better?

and just to mention one of the reviews on that video card regarding windows 8

The rosewill challenger is horrible and cheap
The Antec P280 is quiet , and kinda huge . About $110 on Newegg

This Coolermaster Silencio is reasonable priced at $70

The cooling is not fantastic but for your build it will be fine

Fractal design R3 or R4 are also good cases , but more expensive than the Antec


Some monitors may have display port connectors . It might pay to reconsider which ones you buy keeping in mind the connectors on the graphics card .

No graphics card is plug'n'play . They start and run in a basic 2D mode so you can see whats on the screen to help set things up , but then to make them work you install the driver thats on the disk that came with it . Its not a big deal

would I have issues running dvi to display port and dvi to hdmi adapters? I guess this is the only thing holding up my order is the video card
