Hi forum,

It has been some 10 years since I last build my own pc, and I am totally out of the loop on gear, bottlenecks etc. and I do not have the time to research it all 🙁 Which sucks! But I work professionally with 3D so the "down time" on my gear/building/researching is money out the window as the income from my animations are about 500USD a day.

I am looking for a good solution for building my own computer, having it build by a company or order an existing "standard model">

Info on what I need:

I am using video editing (after effects, premiere pro, photoshop) combined with Unreal Engine development. Right now I use an Acer Asipe v. 17 Nitro with i7 and Nvidia 860m. I am looking for a serious upgrade, primarily on the graphical front to have my animations in UE4 render faster. It takes ages not it is has become a serious hurdle in my working times/speed.

So, I am looking to trade-in my old laptop for 400 USD cash. I can prob get more on a forum or website, but I do not have the time. I need an effective, reliable and bulletproof solution.

I am looking to spend some 1300 USD total for a system (no monitor included). The monitor I have is 1080p. Overkill to go for a gtx1070? I also need atleast one HHD to be SSD for rendering.

I am looking to animate in full 4K live render in the future (Hence the gtx1070). Since this is unreal engine, and since I work as an animator, I am working with photorealistic renderings. So I need power.

So a few questions:

Websites where I can select a build, they put it together, and send it?

Websites where I can go and simply find all the components, already selected, and order them, build it myself or go to a local shop and have it made? (Live in NYC)

A particular pre-made model desktop (like laptops which are actually far more expensive to build yourself than buying premade) that serves my needs that I can just click-order-receive?

I am open to building it myself, if all items are alreaedy selected. I am too afraid to make a computer that overheats, create bottlenecks etc.

This build will be really good for 4K editing. You can also overclock the CPU for more performance.

Amazing man! What a fast reply. So much appreciated.

I cant stop thinking though, how fast will it be compared to this? http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Cyber_Deal_Z170-I7

Will the one you suggest to build be faster? Because with Windows, the build you posted will cost more than ordering that model from cyberpowerpc? I do not know RAM anymore and motherboards, so I really cannot tell what difference they would make. Cooling as well. Have not build for such a long time, that I feel unable to tell which is better .

I have one more question. Do you think it is possible to put this whole system into a more compact/mini/medium tower? Would it heat up? Can it fit there? Have not had a tower for a long time.

Of course.

Changed motherboard and case from ATX to Mini-ITX, changed cooler from 212 EVO to a smaller L9i.
