First custom build

Hi guys,

Been playing around with PC's for some years now, and thought it was about time I built my first custom model (all my old 'off the shelf' ones have ended up being nowhere near the original anyway). I would very much like your opinons on my choice.

This will be for gaming, and I only really play EvE Online and Flight Sim X. Both are graphically and CPU demanding.

Proc: i5 2500K
MoBo: Gigabyte SKT-1155 G1 Sniper 3
GPU: GTX680
RAM: G-Skill Sniper DDR3 PC12800 1600MHz (2x4GB)
PSU: XFX Pro750W XXX Edition
HDD: x2 Samsung SSD's (64Gb for OS and 256Gb for games)
OS: Win7 64
Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 412S CPU Cooler

At present I have a GTX570 and was going to buy a second to SLI, but I got told that was a waste of time so I'm upgrading to a GTX680.

My only real question is the motherboard. I will be overcloking the CPU to around 4.5Gb using aircooled methods. Is the motherboard overkill? My other option was the much more pocket-friendly Gigabyte Z77-D3H. My main fear is that I will be left wanting...

Still completely unsure on the Motherboard!!

ram - g.skill ripjaws x 8gb it comes free with the mobo
gpu - gigabyte gtx 670 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125423
The gtx 680 isn't worth the small increase in performance over the gtx 670 and the asus p8z77-v is a very good mobo with the free ram it's a great deal.

Thanks for your help! Been looking into the GTX670 and you're right. Trying to decide between the Zotac AMP! and the Asus DC II
