This is my first build and I though I'd go ahead and test to make sure everything is functioning correctly before I put it inside my case. After some nightmarish like sounds I installed the CPU (which I'm still not convinced I did correctly), the heatsink, and the memory. I have a VGA cable hooked up to the MB with all the necessary PSU cables in place. My only concern is in the platform I've chosen to build this on. It's currently sitting on top of the ASRock box it came in. I assume it's not conductive but the i'm still worried about shorting the board. Can anyone reassure me that I can power this up without worry?

If it helps, the box is presumably cardboard with a glossy black finish on the outside. Some of the letters seem raised but other than that it should be a standard ASRock Extreme 3 Gen 3 Box.
