Hello! Maybe someone here can assist me. When I click start > shutdown windows 10 takes ages to shutdown fully. I've noticed if I run the command "shutdown /s" and it shuts down fine. It's only been happening this week. Is there any way of rectifying this?

Perhaps see if your OS is pending an update. Speaking of Windows 10, might it be possible to state what the make and model of your motherboard is as well as it's BIOS version? There are instances where a BIOS update has helped iron out issues with Windows 10.

you can enable verbose shutdown status messages see:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/t...startup-shutdown-logon-logoff-status-messages

it will write to the screen info on what it is waiting for.
for example windows can connect and stream to an xbox or another machine. media streaming can block or delay shutdown depending on a setting in windows control panel. even streaming from your machine to a local drive on your machine can block or delay shutdown.
