I'm building a new gaming PC (hopefully to last a while) and I'm a "Measure 16 times cut once" type of person, so I would love to know I'm getting the best bang for buck (or close to it). My plans are to be able to play VR games, and to play general games for the distant future.

I'm using PCPartPicker and replaced the prices with local store prices:
Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz - $259.99
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler - $34.99
Gigabyte GA-H170N-WIFI Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard - $119.99
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB DDR4-2133 Memory (x2) - $66 (online only)
Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB SSD - $90
Thermaltake Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case - $69.99
Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply - $69.99
Total ~ $710

If you've already noticed i don't have a GPU, I'm mainly waiting for Polaris/Pascal to be released completely to see whether to go with AMD or NVIDIA.

Thanks for reading this (its quite long) and I hope someone can provide a good answer.

The rest is great! If you ever run out of storage, you'll have to throw in a HDD (they're cheap). If you want to save every penny, you can keep the 212 EVO if you want, but I certainly recommend the PSU upgrade, since it is an important component. If you want a PSU that is cheaper, you can get the Seasonic G Series 550W.

Thanks for the quick reply (wow that was quick), so do you think a 550 Watt will be enough for now and the future?
Also is there any other problems with this setup, (CPU, Motherboard etc.) because I'd like to make my first build my best (although I honestly doubt it)

Once again thanks for the very fast reply.

It'll be more than fine now and in the future, yes, indeed. It's much higher quality than the CX, is fully modular, more reliable, and should also keep the rest of your hardware more healthy with a longer lifespan. As for the rest of the setup, I recommend the Cryorig H7 cooler instead. It's a bit better for about the same cost, easier to install, and no RAM interference.

Thank you very much for the recommendations, so I guess the rest of the computer is alright as it is? Im mainly trying to save every penny because I'm also saving up for a VR headset (hense the requirement for a new PC). Thanks alot though, I'll try to get that PSU and CPU cooler instead.

I might end up getting the other CPU cooler because its 20 bux cheaper (here at least) and they don't have the other one at the computer shop near here. Its good to hear the other components are good, Ill get that PSU though because I do also know its very important to have a good quality one. I do actually have a 1.5 TB WD Green Drive I've had for a while, which is why i didn't include one.
Thank you alot for your recommendations though, I'll be sure to keep them in mind.
