I'm building a new gaming PC (hopefully to last a while) and I'm a "Measure 16 times cut once" type of person, so I would love to know I'm getting the best bang for buck (or close to it). My plans are to be able to play VR games, and to play general games for the distant future.
I'm using PCPartPicker and replaced the prices with local store prices:
Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz - $259.99
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler - $34.99
Gigabyte GA-H170N-WIFI Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard - $119.99
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB DDR4-2133 Memory (x2) - $66 (online only)
Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB SSD - $90
Thermaltake Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case - $69.99
Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply - $69.99
Total ~ $710
If you've already noticed i don't have a GPU, I'm mainly waiting for Polaris/Pascal to be released completely to see whether to go with AMD or NVIDIA.
Thanks for reading this (its quite long) and I hope someone can provide a good answer.
