So I've been looking at other peoples builds on this thread and I've come up with a combination of them all, can someone tell me if this is compatible and give me some advice on what I can do to make it better :) thanks!

Intel Core i7-3820 Quad-Core, Socket LGA2011, 3.6GHz 310$

Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo Direct Touch 4 Heatpipe Heatsink AM2 AM3 LGA1366/1155/1156/2011 120MM 31$

Gigabyte (GV-N670OC-2GD) nVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 Chipset 420$

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W 80PLUS Bronze Certified Power Supply 90$

Corsair CC-9011013-WW Carbide Series 500R Mid Tower Gaming Case 130$

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz 55$

ASUS P8Z77-V Pro LGA1155 Z77 DDR3 SLI 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI SATA3 DisplayPort USB3.0 Motherboard 222$

Western Digital Caviar Black (WD1002FAEX) 1000GB (1TB) SATA3 7200RPM 64MB Cache 130$

Kingston SVP200S3/120G 120GB SSDNow V+200 SATA 3 2.5 Solid State Drive

Pioneer DVR-219LBK (Black) SATA 24x DVD-Writer OEM 26$

1: i7 3820 is a LGA 2011 cpu and will not fit in a LGA 1155 board that you have picked. i would recommend a i5 3570k and a gigabyte z77x-ud3h cpu and board. you do not need a i7 to game as i5 are the same in gaming situations.

2: why not get hx750 when its only like 30 bucks more and you get 80+ silver and modularity

3: i recommend getting a seagate barracuda 1tb drive with 64mb of cache because ts cheaper and faster

4: i recommend getting a crucial 128gb drive because its faster and more reliable

Sorry about that!

Approximate Purchase Date: within the next month
Budget Range: <2k
System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, surfing, downloading
Parts Not Required: speakers
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: tigerdirect, directcanada, ncix
Country: (e.g.: India) we need to know where these parts are being assembled
Parts Preferences: I'd rather Intel than AMD, and I would really like to have the graphics card listed in the build
Overclocking: Yes, I wouldn't mind trying it
SLI or Crossfire: Not at the moment, but maybe later if a few months
Monitor Resolution: no preference, but I'd like to have dual monitors
Additional Comments: need all the parts to be compatible!

Based on TheBigTroll's comment, I changed a few things, let me know what you think!

If someone can help me find dual monitors compatible with my graphics card too that would be great! :)
I also read somewhere it is good to have a water cooling system if I was going to overclock? can anyone comment on that please?

I'm not good with monitors, but I'll subtract $500 so that we can account for them.

Going down the list:

CPU: I'd recommend SB (i5-2500k) because it overclocks better, doesn't have worse performance, and is cheaper.

GPU: I'd switch to MSI twin Frozr II OC if possible, or ASUS

PSU: I like the PC Power and Cooling 750W Silver rated PSU... it's like $80

RAM: 16GB is unnecessary. You'd be perfectly fine with 8GB (2x4GB).

Mobo: I'd suggest the ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3

Everything else looks good!

Hoooold on. If you're not overclocking, then we can take some of the components down.

Anyway, your build is good. It would be a great build that you would enjoy. Most of the things I would change make very small improvements (though they may save you money). If you left it, you would be very happy with this PC. You'd probably be a bit happier with the changes I suggested, though ;)

Thanks for the help guys!
just a few more questions and I think I'll be set
if I were to change my ram to vengence memory DDR3, would it still be compatible?
and can someone tell me what inputs my graphics card has so I can see what monitor I should get?

What use is there to go to 5 GHz? Max you should ever go to on SB is 4.5 GHz. Using a higher OC, even if it is impractical, to sway others away from IB, is not a good way to give advice.

+1

1. Whats the difference between the ASUS GTX670 and the EVGA GTX670?
2. Will i be able to put two of those ASUS VS228H-P monitors in that graphics card?
