Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster here. I'm looking to upgrade some stuff in my rig and I've never really done any major upgrading before(i.e. CPU, mobo, etc.) so I'm looking for a little assistance.

My specs:

AMD FX-4100
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2
GTX 650Ti
Some 500w PSU
Azza Orion case

I'm keeping the 650Ti for now, but I'm looking to upgrade with:

AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor
Asus SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

I've done my research but I'm looking for a little reassurance here. I'm mostly a gamer and working towards my ultimate rig so is this future-proofed for awhile? I'm also a little unsure about CPU cooling, I plan on getting a new one for the 8320 but I'm unsure what specs I should be looking at, fan noise is not an issue. Will the proposed mobo fit with this case?

Any help at all would be much appreciated, thanks!

Everything will fit, as for what kind of cooler, will fit I can't offer much as I don't have that case. You should notice a pretty big boost in perfomance with that build vs what you have now. The only hold up to being pretty future proof is the 650 TI (same card I have) it runs everything I try smoothly, but most of the new titles start to drag fps down in spots (not bad from like 75 to 50) but that means the next gen games might make it unplayable on maxed settings.

Thanks for the reply, I'm gonna go head and get this stuff ordered! Yeah i'm aware I could use a new video card, just trying to make do with it until I can get the rest of my rig up to speed.
