Just looking for any and all opinions, advice and anything upon my first computer build. Not fully knowledgable, so all help is fully appreciated! I will ideally be doing serious photo-editing, or serious (as possible) gaming; does this build cut it? Does it need any addition to extend its longevity or improve performance?

- 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-4790K Quad Core Processor (Overclocked to 4.4 GHz)
- Thermalright True Spirit 120 Multi CPU Cooler (in addition to the 4 stock fans included)
- 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Memory (2x4GB) Kit
- 2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 760 GPU
- 120 GB SSD
- 2TB SATA III 6Gb/s, 7200rpm, 64MB Cache, 8ms Hard Drive

Is this build enough to run current games on high/ultra, or run fairly intensive digital manipulation programmes with its current hardware?

Solution

photoshop rendering does not require a high graphic card, and 8gb of ram is enough.
i7 with 760 will be well here.

3d/video rendering are demanding,if you are advance you need a 16gb of ram and a TITAN
if you are professional get a 32 gb of ram and quadro/firepro

this build is enough to run current games on high/ ultra at 1080p but for fair intensive digital manipulation programs you will need more ram and in my opinion a gtx titan. or a 6gb gtx 780. for gaming you are absolutely there but for work you are missing a few cuda cores. ( lol)

thanks
at year 2012 up to now im using ps cs5/cs6 with my g2030 and a 258mb built in graphic(GT 630 now) a 4Gb of ram
i started freelancing as graphic designer and digital/manual artist and i dont having any problem on that, but of course i cant do large files for graphic like very huge banner (i never encounter a client for it) and im only allowed for 3d if its very low on graphic and low file i do a simple mug, vase and bottles
