Hi,

I made my first pc and I pressed power button all fans are working but there is no image on my screen i waited for 5 minutes, idk why ppl say building a pc is like legos cos its not PC components are not cheap!

My components
Motherboard/ - MSI 970A/G43
CPU - AMD FX 6300 black edition
Graphics Card - Gigabyte Geforce gtx 950 OC
Ram - Crucial 8 gb
Psu - Xilence Red Wing ATX 2.2 450 watt

I have this audio thing i got with my pc case its like 3 inches or smaller i have no idea where to connect it.
Reason why i mention that is becos you are supossed to hear a beeping sound if something is wrong this motherboard doesnt have a speaker built in so i have this small speaker but i have no clue where to put it, spending hours online didnt help at all no one can tell me where it goes.
If there is someone that can help me plz!

changing components is not an option i payed 530 euros for this and dont have other components remember its my first pc build.

This is the second time i posted this cos no one on earth can tell me wth the problem is, its like no one has this motherboard!
FIrst i need to know where the stupid little speaker goes tht comes with the case i read it should be plugged into the motherboard but no one tells me where !

i tried various headers and i dont hear any beeping sound, Ive seeen many posts being solved all but mine, how is this possible am i truly the unluckiest person in the world

Solution
The build looks essentially alright cable wise etc.
Googling around, the issue with case speakers seems to be the norm.
They don't work on that board from what I've read for anyone.

You're essentially looking at a PSU or motherboard problem , both those components are the weak ones quality wise (I would never recommend either of them).

I have to ask , when you fitted the CPU - you did follow careful instructions.,?

As in lifting up the CPU locking lever before lining the CPU up & dropping it in,then relocking the lever before fitting the heatsink??

Also what connection are you using from the gtx 950 to your monitor??
& also what is your monitor model?
Take out unnecessary components to diagnose. Take out the GPU and the RAM, and only leave the PSU, Motherboard, and CPU. Does it show any image?
Also, get that speaker in, it will help. Refer to your motherboard manual to see where it goes. Once you hear beeping, count the number of beeps to see what type of error you have. This is most likely RAM related from what it looks like.

Can you post a photo of the little speaker & also its cable end connector ??

Upload to postimage.org & post a link here

Quick things to check

1. You gave the 4+4 pin atx power connector plugged in top left of the board.
2. You have the 6 pin PCI express power connector plugged into the gtx 950.

i did tht plugged it into the JFP2 pins i did it 4 times i even turned the speaker upside down so the negative side is on the positive pin and it still doesnt work, i removed the ram before plugging the speaker in and it doesnt beep at all how does tht make sense it should beep right, i have 4 ram slots in which slot do i place the ram, i had it in the first slot closest to the cpu then i tried the second slot and it still doesnt work, even when removed no beeping sound, monitor says no signal

Motherboard doesnt have a built in graphics card so will it show any image if i remove the graphics card?
plus its rlly hard to remove the graphics card im worried i might damage the motherboard i just tried it and the whole motherboard moves with it

Install the RAM in the 2nd closest slot. Make sure it is fully seated. The motherboard manual dictates so. Keep the speaker in the mobo with the correct polarity, and take out the GPU. Double check you have power to the CPU through your 4-pin connector.

970 boards don't have integrated graphics so removing the GPU is pointless.

Nothing looks inherently wrong from the pics.

Can you remove the cables from the jfp1 header , lay them out on a table so the print on them is clearly visible & take a photo .

those are the pics, idk wht to do anymore i put the ram back in the first slot closest to the cpu and i have given up on this its impossible ive tried so hard yet no one can seem to find an explanation i even went to a pc repair man and he has no clue, these are all new parts the fact tht the little speaker device doesnt even work is crazy

Solution

that was it!! when u said did i follow the instructions on the manual...i didnt, i actually removed the CPU and cooler about an hour ago and did it following the manual which is pull the lever up first then put the cpu in and close the lever and lock it and put the cooler on top and I FINLLY have image! thank god.....who knew something so little could be such a nuisance omg

right now im trying to install windows on it but apparantly I need a small usb stick i have a external harddrive i changed it to a internal harddrive by removing it shell and placing it inside my pc, but i cant seem to use tht harddrive as a windows installer

No i downloaded the mediacreation tool kit from miscrosoft when u download windows 10 as an installer.
But when i open tht file i need to select a drive but it wont recognize my external harddrive of 1 tb even when the laptop does recognize it, its just tht the mediacreation tool kit wont recognize it.

plus i dnt have internet on my new pc YET btw idk if tht matter but just wanted to let u know in case i need it

Assuming you have the windows 10 install files or an iso saved you can put the drive back in the external case & follow the below

http://www.intowindows.com/install-windows-8-from-external-hard-drive/

Bear in mind you need to format that external drive afresh so if you have files on it you need to back them up first.

My external harddrive is empty, I will try those steps, i will let u know if it worked

i read the steps but the steps are meant for the system ur using....right?
if i follow the steps it will install windows on my laptop which i already have, i want windows on my external harddrive then unplug it and plug it in my newly built pc and install windows on there becos it doesnt have an operating system, it keeps showing me an error message tht i need to boot device or something becos i dont have a USB flash drive with an operating system on it .

the steps u linked me to show you how to install windows on the laptop or computer ur using at tht moment which is something i dont want, and it assumes i have a windows 10 iso file which is wht i also dont have

Once you have the bootcsector & files on the usbhard drive

1. Plug it into one of the rear black USB 2 ports
2. Boot the PC while keeping jabbing the 'Del' key on keyboard to enter bios.

3. On the main bios screen , top right is a bar marked boot priorities, make sure the hard drive icon (rectangular box without a USB text) is dragged to the far left with the mouse.
4. To the right of the boot priorities bar is a small button with a + symbol.
Click this then click the hard drive with USB over the top.this will instaboot the external drive which should install windows.

it wont recognize my external harddrive, the media creation tool kit by microsoft wont recognize my external harddrive i followed the steps i formatted it and its NTFS yet it wont recognize it at all "cant find a usb flash drive'' is wht i keep getting

now you follow those exact steps from the link I posted before

http://www.intowindows.com/install-windows-8-from-external-hard-drive/

which is essentially

reformatting the external drive to ntfs
usinz 7 zip to extract the files from the iso to the external drive
using command prompt to put a boot sector on the drive to make it a bootable installation drive

obviously step 6 ignore - what you want to do is remove the external drive from your laptop & do the below as I said before

Click this then click the hard drive with USB over the top.this will instaboot the external drive which should install windows.

bear in mind you get a trial period with windows 10 - you will need to purchase a valid registration period to continue using it after that trial period is over

I have no clue on how to make a boot device using command prompt, can u walk me through it

Format the drive as NTFS mate & use 7 zip to extract thn iso to it as per the link info.

Let me know what your drive letter is for the external drive.
I'll make you a batch file & upload it - you'll just be able to run it & it will do the job for you
