Hi I'm moving on from consoles to a PC now I can afford it, I've got a monitor, keyboard, mouse and OS set-up. Was wondering how this build looks to people and where improvements might be made without much change to the price which unfortunately is pretty strict in my case. To be honest I've only been researching PC components for a few weeks having never looked at them before so am a bit unsure how good a brand or component might be compared to a similarly priced alternative.

your build is pretty good .... fx 6300 is very good for overclocking so if you are planning to overclock it ....i would suggest u to buy an aftermarket cpu cooler like coolermaster hyper 212+ or u may suffer from overheating issues .... happy gaming :)

I may be wrong but I think the general concensus is that the cheaper Corsair PSU's should be avoided and instead opt for the better brands, XFX, Seasonic, Altec albeit they are pricier.

Unfortunately this budget is currently fixed, although in about a year I know I could spend more to upgrade it if necessary. Would a cooler be fine to fit in at a later date if I decided to over clock? And if I were to use this build what might I upgrade first when I have the money in a few months?

ya sure you can add the cooler later on, coolermaster hyper 212 plus will cost you around 30 $... i don't think there is a recent update necessary and u have pretty much every thing you need but if u want an update u can buy a ssd but its optional...
