Let me start by saying I recently purchased all the necessary parts to build my first rig. I got a decent deal on newegg for all the components and began putting it together.
GIGABYTE GA-Z77-DS3H LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 3000 BX80623I52500K
EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2662-KR GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video
Rosewill Stallion Series RD500-2DB 500W ATX12V Power Supply
I watched several videos on how to install just the CPU/HSF, PSU, RAM, and video card, and plugged away.
I had CPU/PSU/RAM/Video card installed and used a metal screwdriver to short the two power pins and instantly my PSU fan turned on, as did my HSF and VIdeo card fan.
However, When I turn the monitor on it says No VGA signal. Next I removed the video card to see if that would help get a monitor signal. I try to boot and all fans start up and the monitor displays "Reboot and select proper boot device..." I obviously have no OS installed yet, nor do I even have a hard drive attached. It would also be important for me to mention that I'm unsure if my MOBO has an internal speaker or not, and I do not own a case speaker so I am unsure if I am getting any POST beep error messages
I clearly am not quite experienced enough to understand what is going on and would appreciate any troubleshooting.
