My windows 8.1 pro isn't looking so good right now, as my updates aren't working, neither is ie, a few glitches are happening and chkdsk BSOD's my computer. I have files and programs on there which are needed so I don't want to result to refresh or reset. I have contacted Microsoft support but that didn't work because the connection got severed when he tried to do chkdsk :/ I am pretty sure it isn't a hardware related issue.
Thanks,
Jet

Sounds like the first course of business is to save off the critical files. The heck with figuring out what's wrong with it until then, so get it up and running, and save the crucial files and programs onto a flash drive or larger external hard drive. Sounds like the cloud isn't as good an option.

Next up would be a complete malware check.

You may not like reinstalling software, but it may be your only option. You can run basic tests, like MEMTEST for your memory subsystem and sfc /scannow to check the windows core files. You can run malwarebytes to check for malware. Your symptoms are too vague to provide much guidance.

I have run multiple malware services including the windows one. They all say that there is no malware on my system. I have a very recent system image on another internal drive, and the actual windows works fine (unless I do one of the triggers such as chkdsk) if I didn't make that clear enough. If I do have malware it is very well programmed...

Then it might be a hardware problem. Chkdsk is attempting to check the integrity of the disk drive. Does the manufacturer of the disk drive have diagnostic program ? Search for one ...

BTW, when I run sfc /scannow I get as follows:
Microsoft Windows [Version 6.3.9600]
(c) 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 85% complete.

Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.

C:\Windows\system32>

OCZ does have diagnostics available on their website. There is also a "mandatory" firmware upgrade shown on the OCZ website. It is listed as "for continued reliability" ...

It might be too late. It is possible that the firmware fix was to prevent data corruption. I built a PC for a friend and forgot to check for a firmware update on the SSD and the windows install got corrupted. Did the firmware update and everything was fine. I suggest you read the release notes for the firmware.
