Question Flash BIOS button - POST lights

Hello, I just received an MSI x870 Tomahawk motherboard. I wanted to update the BIOS via Flashing with the onboard button. I'm performing the flash without a CPU or RAM installed.

When I pressed the Flash button, a red light inside the motherboard flashed for a few minutes, while the first 2 lights on the POST error feedback (CPU, and DRAM) and the 2 digits for the error codes lit up.

The red light has stopped flashing after a few minutes (which I believe is normal), but the POST lights are staying on.

Is this normal? When would it be safe to switch off the PSU?

Thanks for your help.

Not necessary.

Switch off the PSU, then wait for the lights to go out, then drop in the processor and ram and cooler, you should be good to go with the iGPU(if you don't have a discrete GPU) but you should see POST.

Different chipset/motherboard in this guide;

but the principle remains the same.

Thanks so much for your reply. I am experiencing the same thing as the video, which is encouraging. I'll go ahead and switch off the PSU now, and hope for the best. Thanks again.
