Hello!

I have a Gigabyte P965-DS4 rev 1.0 motherboard which worked just fine until I flashed the wrong eeprom for the integrated Marvell Yukon 88E8053 network card. The new eeprom is designed for the rev 2.0 of the board with the 88E8056 NIC. Now it’s still recognized in Windows but it seems like it can’t receive packets. Strangely enough, the same happens for every other PCI NIC I plug in.

Is there any way of getting the original firmware file? Gigabyte’s technical support didn’t respond my message.

Thanks in advance,
Igor

You should have backed up the old bios before flashing. That is one of the oldest rules.Go to giga-bytes website and look in their archives for the older bios. Most likely you'll need to flash it from a floppy.Goodluck.

That's why every system needs a floppy drive. Everyone needs to get back to basics on the BIOS flashing. A floppy drive is only $5-$10.

I can flash my BIOS with only a usb memory stick, standard on an Asus mobo.. Really no need for a floppy these days.

Is that standard on all MBs? The floppy is, although in a few years it probably won't exist anymore. At any rate if you are going to flash your BIOS you need to get a backup copy, which I assume is doable on the USB memory stick.

Edit: If there is really no need for floppies these days then why is the OP screwed?
