Monitor: Asus TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A
GPU: RTX 4070 Ti
I noticed that I get strong flickering (ghosting) when watching YouTube videos that are not in 4k 60p, so for example 720 50p or even 1080 60p. This is particularly the case when there are slow motion camera shots that show moving actions. As an example, see the trees in this video (which will probably look fine for you if you do not have that problem):

I suspect it has to do with the refresh rate and the extent to which there is "alignment" between the set refresh rate and that of the video.
What confuses me is if I reduce the refresh rate from 144Hz to 60Hz in the NVidea control panel, the flickering still persists as before. This doesn't really fit my theory that it has to do with the mis-match of refresh rates. Yet, when I look at the 720 50p video on my smartphone, there is no flickering.
I use a Display Port cable. Weirdly, using an HDMI cable that is appropriate for 8k, I cannot even select 144Hz, only max 120 Hz. The problems seem to persist, however.
Variable OD settings in the monitor settings or activating/deactivating GSync do not appear to have any effect.
Does anyone have an idea how I can figure out what the problem is and suggest ways to deal with it?
Happy about any information and willing to provide more info if necessary.
Thanks a lot in advance.
