I was reading this months ( June , 2005 ) Flying Magazine, and
realized that there was the 2nd Article about Flight Simulators this
year. I had sent a letter to the editor after the first article, and
the author, Flight Instructor Jay Hopkins, quoted what I said in my
letter in this article.

He states that after writing the first article on home flight sims
like MSFS, he received more mail on the article than any other article
that he has written. Many of the letters he received were from pilots
ranging in experience from ATP's and Instructors to student pilots.
The vast majority of these letters, praised the value of home
simulators for pilots. Many stories of pilots both private and
professional, using MSFS the night before a check ride, to brush up
on approaches were contained in this article. A large number of
positive comments on home flight sims are quoted all through the
article.

I have been a Flying Magazine reader since the mid 70's and I view
that magazine as the top in our world of Flying and the world of
Pilots. It was nice to see that we simulator pilots were recognized
by Flying, and by the rest of the flying community.

Captain Bob,
I saw the 2nd article in last months Flying, but I missed the previous
article. What month did the first article appear in?
