you in trouble man.? i got a r9 280x for sale if you need.[joking i sold it for 114 quid.too cheap]

Think I have power issues running these 2 cards.

Got a 1000w Corsair but split 12v rails, had to shut it down, very strange goings on.

Started out ok, like 990k ppd, I was weeing a bit, then it dropped to 610k, checked the 980ti and it was running @64%!!

PPD on the 980ti dropped to 123k, then I realised Afterburner was reporting the 980 as the 980ti and vice versa:pt1cable:

No matter what I did the cards were mixed and one would dramatically drop after about 5 mins of folding.

Now finishing a complete uninstall, clean and reinstall of everything related.

Will be trying a 1200w Corsair with 105amps on the 12v this weekend also.

dam,xfx seasonic, superflower and evga make some [maybe] cheaper psu for you. i got my card.ran firestrike at stock oc to hell my old one reached 8268 this one hits 12820 ,im very pleased.havnt OC it yet.not sure i need too lol

Right so I...

Uninstalled NVidia drivers

Uninstalled f@h client inc data

Cleaned registry etc etc.

Re installed latest drivers and f@h client

SWITCHED PCI-E CABLES OVER

Now I assumed that the 980ti would consume more juice than the 980 (both Gigabyte G1 editions)
But having read this, seems I was wrong http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-ti,review-33214-7.html

So having the dual 12v lines I now have the 980ti on the weaker set that include all the other system devices.

It seems to be working, don't know if the re install had anything to do with it but anyways seems like the psu was struggling.

This could also have been the problem with the bad wu's, I suppose I will find out, so far so good....

Apologies for the long post:pt1cable:

Are you running a 980 non TI and a 980TI in the same rig? If so that might well be the issue as one of my 970's returned this earlier - 21:51:42:WU02:FS02:Sending unit results: id:02 state:SEND error:NO_ERROR project:9633 run:1 clone:16 gen:8 core:0x21 unit:0x0000000cab436c9b5609bee240cdba26, I don't think your problem is Nvidia's fault mate so there is no need to downgrade to an AMD card just yet!

AS THEY WORKED BEFORE THEY SHOULD WORK NOW.MAYBYE ONE OF THE CARDS ISNT .COULD THAT BE WHERE THE FAULT LIES.WHATS THE TEMPS ON THE CARDS ARE THEY NORMAL? SORRY CAPSS.

i want to thank you guys for turning me onto Nvidea. This card is truely incredible.it runs so quiet and o cool and i hit 'beats 91% of allother systems on firesrike 12906 @stock]

I think I've worked out a few issues now.

Definitely PSU was struggling but switching the PCI-e cables has solved that.

Realised one of my cards was in a 1x slot, thought it was 4x, killed the ppd.

Both cards run fine when in the x16 slots but too close together, top card gets too warm.

PCI riser also reduces ppd, its a 1x - 16x USB powered version.

@Pimp, can you post some wu ppd for your new 980 and the speed its running at.

Could you also check on Afterburner the power % and gpu usage % the card uses.

I want to compare it to mine to make sure the cards ok, cheers Buddy.

A while ago Ext mentioned that it may be problematic getting two different cards to play nice together, now at the time we were discussing running an AMD card and Nvidia card in the same rig and you are saying that the cards are being read differently by the F@H client but are they being read incorrectly?

Picked up a used 460 for partial payment for some computer work.
Threw it in my rig and things went haywire.
The cards were mixed up in F@H client and correct in everything else.
Also the 650TI boost would randomly drop to 80% or 60% usage. And then stay there until the unit finished.

Finally got them recognized properly after a driver wipe and registry cleaning and reinstall of drivers ,then F@H.
But would still get the low usage.
Then I realized that if I opened a web page in Firefox that usage would jump back up to 99-96%. So I ran them for a while with a Firefox page open and cropped small. But if I forgot and closed the Firefox page points and usage tanked.
Finally I put the 460 in a old Core2 duo box after flashing the bios to run overclocked under Lubuntu.

That's some darned useful info, thanks Rick I'll bear that in mind in any future "experiments". :)

weird.you learn something new everyday.i never knew you could fold both amd and nvidea cards in the same rig. mind you the trouble beano is having im just glad i got the one.did a 250.000 last night with just this new card, that would be like a weeks work with the r9 lol.pdd 462490

I never got the AMD and Nvidia to work together.

The problems I am having is with 2x Nvidia cards.

Think I have it sorted now, they run fine when both in x16 slots.

Can you post me some of your 980 wu vs ppd info, cheers.

My 980 @1354mhz is currently doing a 9630wu for 425k ppd.

This will work😀
