Question For the following content creation would a AMD 3950x and Quadro RX 5000 be better than a AMD TR3 3960x with Quadro 4000x or Gforce 11gb 2080 ti?

Been struggling with decsions for a build mainly around the motherboard and GPU.





Will be using solidworks a fair bit where its own forums very much push Quadro GPU cards and been looking at the Quadro 8gb RTX 4000 budget wise with a Threadripper 3960x, but for most others the Geforce, 11gb 2080ti seems to look a better bet.





Was wondering if a better idea could be to go for a Ryzen 3950x processor and the best motherboard I can get as cheaper than TRx40 systems with a Quadro 16gb RTX 5000 could be better than trying to work choose a Threadripper 3 3960x with a Quadro 8 GB 4000RTX or Geforce 11gb 2080ti?


Also factoring into Motherboards which in the threadrippers case have far more lanes for addons, pci cards, m2 ssds, connections etc

Personally think more suited to systems boards, but people will reply regardless.

It's a very content creation build you're considering, and the components you're considering is really the core of a system: CPU, GPU and motherboard. I would assume you have a budget in mind.

What sort of benchmarks did you come across which compares the components? I would like to think they should form part of your decision. Usually I hear the graphics card is more important for rendering as it can be leveraged for better performance (usually Nvidia as I understand it with CUDA cores).
