Sorry if the topic is confusing, HOWEVER a search didn't reveal any true answers to my question.

Basically I have a brand new motherboard:
Solid capacitors vs Electrolytic capacitors

my motherboard as the old Electrolytic capacitors, my question is has anyone taken a motherboard and replaced all Electrolytic with Solid capacitors then tested stability and overclocking????

I know that in OC tests the most helpful thing is to have HQ components so if i where to take my new MSI K9N Diamond and replace the cap's with Solid ones would I see any difference (and I have read that for alot of people replacing stock capacitors have made a diff and equally :?: some that do not)

Thanks to anyone who can post... otherwise i might end up trying this myself......

As the motherboard is a multi-layer design, you're more likely than not to b0rk the board. Either way your warranty is gone.

really?!.... looking at the board itself it looks like removing and replacing the capacitors would be a piece of cake since i use precise soldering iron in most all my work........ as for the warranty..... i have never had to use one and the last board i bought from newegg and modified still got replaced even thought it was warranty voided......... so all i really care about is the true testing of weather it works or not better and more stable with higher quality capacitors

You're contradicting yourself

so all i really care about is the true testing of weather it works or not better and more stable with higher quality capacitors

I can't speak to that since I've never been adventureous enough to modify a perfectly good piece of electronics. Go ahead and try since the cost of the caps is probably trivial. But, don't blame me when you b0rk the board.

lol yes i did didn't i.... well lets put it this way.... i have never had a problem getting a replacement even if i voided a warranty

and as for being adventurous i think of it more as going to the extreme to see if that would help even get more OC out of a system i mean come on quality parts do have to have an affect on how a mobo performs
