hello,
i just did a data transfer from may old ssd to new ssd. the new ssd can boot to windows now, but when i plug in the old ssd i cant boot to windows with that ssd, when i change the boot order in the bios i get a message that there is no proper boot drive. now i tried to wipe the whole boot drive (the old one) but then i get the message that i can because its the boot drive. how can i wipe this drive so my pc will boot to the correct drive?

How did you do this transfer?
What are the specific drives involved?
At the end of the cloning/transfer process, did you power OFF, disconnect the old drive, and let the system boot up from only the new drive?
Please show us a screencap of your Disk Management window.

Yeah I have kinda the same problem but I wanted to format my ssd but it had a window os on it and when I plugged it in to format the ssd my my windows os on the pc crashed and I got a black screen then

Please start a new thread for your particular situation.

But you can't "format" the same drive that the OS is currently running on.
If it even starts, the procedure WILL die quite quickly.
