Format from XP CD

Before installing XP to a new hard drive, can you format the HD by using the XP OS CD from the CDR Drive instead of using a fdisk floppy.

Is there a option to format at the opening XP screen?

I have not installed XP before :| Just Microsofts BEST EVER OS - WinME

You don't want to format using a boot floppy. It will give you the FAT32 file system. Not what you want for XP.

if he did a dual boot with his fav os win me he would neet fat32

No he wouldn't.

NTFS can read and write to FAT32, but not the other way around.

Fat cannot read NTFS.

yes win xp could be on a fat32 partition, but he coudlnt install ME on an NTFS partition, thus if he wanted a dual boot , one of the partitions would need to be fat32.
