hi...i hv 1tb hard drive,it was split into 2 parts,local C and D...so,i plan to buy 480gb ssd,making it to be my C and the 1TB for D...do i have to re-install my windows?

Solution
On mobile, so cannot edit. Just install the drive, boot up to your HDD, like you have been, and install the included samsung software. Once you migrate the data, change the boot priority to your SSD. Then you can format your HDD as needed.

i plan to buy HyperX savage 480gb....then how about my hdd, does it hv to reformat?

I would not buy a Kingston drive. They are not known for their reliability. Sandisk Ultra II 480gb, or a samsung 850 evo 500gb, would be a better choice. Once you are done with the OS swap, you can wipe out the old C: partition, and extend the old D:, or format the old C and keep two separate partitions. Windows will establish the SSD as C:, and change the letters on your 1tb. Make sure which partition is which, before you format.

so if i pick the samsung EVO,it can migrate my current OS without re-install?is it also possible to migrate all of my programs in C to the ssd like my games or software cause it takes a lot of time to re-install them...my current C size now is 200gb with 151gb used space...
