I know what you mean. As I'v already stated I'm 44, last week I was talking to my main supplier (via the phone , have never met them) and he commented he thought I was in my early Twentys.
I'm sure my kids hate me as I know exatly what there getting up to on the Internet and have limited there access lol
I still know much more then them about PC's

So look out kids, us oldies are looking over your shoulders.

I'm 33, London, UK

Built my 3rd rig as you will see in my sig.

My first PC was if i remember correctly:

386 33MHz with 4MB of RAM and a 85MB HDD (My current mobile has more storage capacity than that)! and ran Windows 3.1

42
Child Abuse Unit
Computer Crimes Division
Long Beach, New York
Filipino/Scottish

As for rigs I've built, I've lost count.
I started out with a Commodore64. I don't know if many will remember that one.

I'm 53. Started with a Radio Shack Trash-80. First build was when the 80386 came out and have built dozens and dozens of PCs in my days. I've been a mainframe programmer for the last 23 years mostly using primarily assembler (BAL) in IBM's 370 architecture. My degree is in IT and I live in Nashville, TN.

I started using the input cards too but in my world everything's hex (EBCDIC) and not octal.

I'm 16 from montreal, quebec(yes in canada!!), built only 2 rigs so far waiting for vista, dx10 and 65nm. BTW is there any girls out here?

23, from England

Built alot of computers in my time, all great 😀

Work in IT support sales, Not fun!

writing this feels like writing a nerdy dating ad.
i feel like i shuld add i'm 5 11" and lots of fun
not sure any women will see this tho!

lol

I'm somewhere in the area of 30-ish for age (give or take lol)

First comp was the same trash80(trs80) mg37221 mentioned above. Text adventure games ruled my life then. (all on a cassette tape data player instead of even a disk!) Since then I have been trough almost every console up to the n64, (do have an xbox) but the dark side could never turn me from building and programming... built so many systems I lost count. Remember fondly the birth of 3-D (voodoo!) when Ms. Croft truly looked her best. 😉 Remember my tnt2 video card just as fondly. (first one w/ 32megs onboard... who would ever need that much ram?!! lol) Things have moved so fast since that trs80 reading about how dark the cave was that I stood in...

Currently a programmer (B.S. in Computer Science, heavy on the B.S. 😉 ) for a small industrail software company here in Montana. Trying to raise 2 kids to love this stuff even half as much as I do. Try to help out ppl here on the forums... been reading tom's for years, only recently got on the forums to contribute what little I really do know.

Continue to learn what I can... you never stop. Finding out that some are younger then they "sound" here... many more are much older. 8O

rock on.

I'm a 25 year old contract software engineer in the US. I also do a lot of software architecture, depending on the contract.

I consult for only large coporations, usually banks, R&D labs, or government contractors.

I wrote my first program when I was 11 on my commodore 64. I know (well) over 40 different programming languages. I dropped out of school at 16 and have no college education. My professional career started at 17 when I ran the IT operations for a mortgage company. I'm completely self-taught.

Oh, yeah, and I cook a MEAN meatloaf! :)

36 here, on my first build - don't know a whole heck of a lot about building PC's, but thought I'd give it a go.

A guy in my office (I have a new job at a PC store) has built literally hundreds of pc's and is nice enough to help me out.

It's definitly a fun project and would like to do more in the future. I have been learning a bit sifting thru the forumz, "swallowing the fruit and spitting out the seeds", so to speak - it's helped a bit to see the issues people have as well as how to solve it, or the successes peeps have had and how and what they had it with.

Anyways, TC peeps, and have fun 😀

yes! lol... I had you beat though. My lofty settings had me gaming on a color tv! (had the trs80 "coco") Granted, the text games did not benefit from it but still... 😉
