im building my first pc in june, but due to certain circumstances i had to buy the cpu and mobo right now (r5 1600 + asus x370 pro)

will they be absolutely fine if i just leave them sealed in their boxes ?
and what do i do if i find out in june that the mobo is doa ?

(the shop offers doa replacement within 7 days)

They will be fine in their boxes until you are ready to use them. If there is an issue then, you will just deal directly with Asus on an exchange or repair. The motherboard will still be under warranty with them. Same for the CPU and AMD.

No. Once they authorize your warranty claim, you'll ship them the motherboard and accessories. They'll test it themselves and, depending on the test results, either ship back your motherboard, repaired, a new motherboard, or your motherboard, unmodified due to them not finding an issue with it.
