My fps drops significantly when I play games
At first when I got this laptop I can play games on high and it'll be smooth. I play games like DOTA 2, Starcraft 2, and other steam games. I have this laptop for about 2 months now but the problem started occurring about two week ago and I con't know why. Now i play everything on low but the fps still drops. the delay is very visible but the games are playable, not so much enjoyable when theres a delay in reaction.
Temperature is fine, Internet Connection is fine, No virus (trojans, malwares, etc), I have defragged it, i updated my Nvidia drivers but it still continues.
I have an ASUS Q550L, with Nvidia Geforce 745M and Intel Core i7.
What is the problem and how do i fix it?
Any suggestions will be appreciated

Have you checked for background processes?,. you might have a bunch of programs running in the background hogging your memory etc.

Bring up your task manager, Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on the "performance" tab.

Disable any startup programs you don't need enabled using msconfig - click start --> run and type msconfig, click the "startup" tab and disable any unwanted start applications.

Could be a number of other things such as your antivirus accessing your HDD, you will have to do some digging to get to the route cause.
