Question FPS drops in Apex despite good hardware

hey buddies,

I thought I would turn to the forum now.

I have the following problem. At the beginning of last year I built a computer with the following components:

• RTX 3070 8GB
• AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
• 16GB Ram (XMP enabled and running at 3200MHz)

However, I'm having frame drops in Apex and my game is starting to feel non-smooth.
A friend of mine has older hardware but consistent FPS. FPS limited to 144FPS and still drops.

Do you have an idea? Greetings from Germany.

frame "drops" as in massive stuttering
or just lower than expected frame rates?
these are two different things.

it stutters a bit and my 144FPS alternates between 130-144FPS. the main problem is really that my game doesn't feel smooth anymore. it generally feels a bit jerky.
