FPS Drops in games

Hello guys. Just wanna ask a question.

Whenever I have my PC open for some hours and play a game my fps get lower , about 20-30 frames. If I restart my PC everything works good. Better fps and feel it a lot smoother.
Why is that happening? Is it normal or something's wrong with my PC?

i7 3770
gtx 1060 6gb
8gb ram
600w PSU

My temperatures are good and I reinstalled Windows 10 like 4 months ago. Do you think I should do it again?

Could it be because my CPU is a bit old or maybe because I'm using OC mode on my GPU? I have the ASUS Strix OC 1060.

no your CPU is still very good. perfect combo for the GPU you have. i would monitor utilizations in task manager for the CPU, ram, disk etc to see what's getting out of whack. or you could use something like MSI afterburner to check all that kinda stuff

And btw can the dust on my pc cause this fps drops even if my temps are good?

well how are you checking your temperatures? yes of course dust could affect temperatures, and it usually does affect temperatures. how were you checking them? what were you checking?

My temps are at 55°C max both CPU and GPU. I'm just saying would dust affect performance in games if the temperatures are ok or if they only go too high?

well no in that case probably not. did you get around to monitoring the system with task manager while playing games. pay particular attention when the system seems to start slowing down. check temperatures especially when this happens

I checked with MSI afterburner but everything seemed good but will check again. For example when I'm playing Overwatch I get lag mostly in fights and I'm using a 144hz monitor and my fps are always above 144 so I'm not sure why this is happening. That's why I asked about the dust. I will clean my PC tomorrow or in like 2 days and will check how it goes.

not a bad idea to clean it out even if you don't think it's the problem

Do you think a bad PSU can cause this problem? The lag and fps drops?
