Hi all,

A question here regarding the performance of the RTX 3080.
I have the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB AORUS MASTER . Prior to this i had a Zotac Twin Edge 3070 OC. I'm having issues with FPS on Call of Duty Warzone, I understand the game is poorly optimized but still I need to come to an understanding of what problems i'm facing to increase my frame rates. currenly i'm getting 90-130 FPS on 1080P. After viewing benchmark videos on youtube and reading through many forums i still can't understand why i'm getting such low framerates considering on my 3070 i was getting 144fps consistantly on 1080P.

Here are my specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB AORUS MASTER
MB: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4
PSU: Corsair CXM 750 W 80+ Bronze
RAM: 2 x 8gb PNY XLR8 EPIC-X RGB DDR4 3600 MHz
SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME
Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME
Crucial MX500 1 TB 2.5"
CASE: Lian Li LANCOOL II-W
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM SE 63 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
FANS: Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB Pro 52 CFM 120 mm Fan x 4
Corsair AF120 x 2

Steps i have taken already:

-Fresh install of Call of Duty
  • DDU for drivers
  • Rolling back the driver.

Please find attached benchmark photo.

Any help would mean alot :)

Have you used MSI Afterburner to monitor your GPU performance, clock speeds, etc. to see if anything is running out of norm (lower than expected)?

The Corsair CXM 750 might be at the limits of providing proper power to the card, so it could be not running at proper settings. It would work fine for the 3070 but for a 3080 and above, I, personally, would go no less than an 850 watt PSU to be save. Yes, Nvidia says 750 is fine but I personally like to error a little on the higher side (rather have power if needed versus not having enough power).

Hi there, first of all thanks for the reply.

I have monitored on msi afterburner and all seems fine. I set everything to the high test settings on warzone and I’m getting more frames and than the low 1080p settings. Is this because the 3080 works better on high graphics settings?
Regarding the psu I’ll have a look at a change. Thanks again

Is your RAM definitely running at 3600mhz and in dual channel?
Do you have PBO switched on?
Do you have the Window Ryzen power plan installed and switched on?

Ram is indeed running at 3600mhz dual channel
PBO is on from the Ryzen master software
Windows ryzen power 'amd ryzen high performance'
