[SOLVED] Fractal meshify C front shroud?

Is that front spongy material on the intake bad for air intake? Seems like it creates a lot of blockage. I have been removing the entire shroud didn't know i could take off that front screen until today. Just wondering the effect on airflow coming in with the spongy material in there

It's a dust filter. All filters hamper airflow to some degree, but that's the price to pay if you dont want to have dust caking up inside the computer. Just give it a cleaning once or twice a month and it'll be fine.
