I couldn't agree more jtt. Obama told CBS' 60 Minutes He didn't lose any sleep over his order to kill bin Laden. He ordered the terrorist to be, "shot on sight." No one knows how much American history He studied as a child in Indonesia but we know positively He got as far as the Wild West.

President Obama flew to Ft. Campbell to shake hands with the U.S. Navy SEAL who shot Osama bin Laden twice between the eyes and killed him. The president had to go to him. The commando is in the brig til he can prove he didn't act out of prejudice against Muslims.

Capturing Osama bin Towel would have made no sense whatsoever. Given that an individual is innocent until proven guilty, that had been done many times over, including out of his own mouth. We had already wasted too much money and other resources on him. Why invite a spate of terrorist acts trying to free him?
He died much more easily than he deserved, but then dropping him from 800-1000 feet (like those who jumped from the WTC towers) might be seen to violate Constitutional prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment. I do not believe the Constitution requires executions to be accompanied by formal ceremony.

I suddenly realized as I was driving to work this morning that there is a reason for sadness at the death of Osama bin Towel.
Let me explain.
When I was a kid (60's and 70's), it seemed every time there was a terrorist act in the Middle East, Yassar Arafat and his PLO proudly claimed responsibility.
What this means, is that had Osama lived another few years, he too could have had a Nobel Peace Prize. So isn't that rather sad?
