Free Play

What exactly does free play mean? I assumed it meant that no quarters
would have to be inserted to start a game. Is this correct?

I have set my upright After Burner to run on Free Play, but I still
have to enter a quarter. The monitor displays the words "Free Play" at
boot up.

You are correct, Free Play means that you should just be able to hit start
to start playing. If you still have to enter quarters then it's not really
on Free Play.

After doing some more research, I have found a couple of other posts
from other After Burner owners with the same problem. Maybe free play
doesn't work with this game.
