Freezing low fps 7790 crossfire

Hi i have a new setup of 2 7790's that freeze up on me whenever i play bf4
SPECS:
Gpu: 2 msi 7790 crossfire not oc
Cpu: amd fx 8320 not oc
Motherboard: msi 970a-g46
Psu: Solid Gear SDGR-750E 750 Watt (I know not quality brand)
SLI/Crossfire ready
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
Driver: I have tried both 13.22 beta v8 and v9.2 with the same result

I have unparked all my cores, disabled ulps, and have both gpu fans running at 50% right after boot. I get 40fps in ultra and 60 in low settings in bf4. If i disable crossfire in CCC I actually get better fps with a lot less drops and no freezes. Anyone know how to fix this?

That has to do with drivers which AMD has attempted to fix for yrs it seems some cards do that some don't I have 2 7770 crossfire and I don't get any of the problems you have but My cards are asus. The brand don't mean anything either its like luck of the draw so I have never ran into it before. Wish you luck.

im running my cards on 9.2 and they are doing great. I have heard the frame pacing causes problems in bf4. So make sure to disable that in ccc. Also disable the cpus turbo. One other thing is try playing with no aa or 2x msaa


Also could be because of your mobo. You really should be running a 990fx or fxa with the 8320. Your vrms could be heating up throttling you

nothing youc an do about that besides get a new motherboard. yours is a 970 which will throttle a 8320/50 in most cases

I know when mine does lock up its due to me messing with the bios setting so I believe its mobo related. If it was gpu related you would usually get a DX error but it still could be because of the gpu. I know for me since you have xfire you will be using more cpu power and when you use more cpu on the 970s they throttle you .

your best bet is to use hwinfo64 download it and run with sensors only and you will see your vrms etc in there. if you are over 70c you will be throttling.

I would try going into the bios and disabling core 6 and core 8 so the last two modules will only be using one core each which helps in some cases speed wise and will help you use less power

I turned on active phase switching which seemed to help with fps because now im getting normal numbers but it still freezes up after around 5-10 minutes

heres what my temps and usage looks like after 5 minutes of bf4 gameplay

after 10 minutes with lag starting to happen

It has to be the psu if those readings are correct. 15v on the 12v line with a low of 3v. As well other huge differences

holy sh*t i didnt even notice that....i better get a new one before my system blows.....

Well i rebooted and bios is saying 12.6V on 12V rail which leaves me confused...

Im gonna replace my cpu with a corsair 750W tomorrow to see if that fixes it

do you have a handheld tester that you can plug into a empty molex to see if its actually reading that off? either way your best bet is to swap it out regardless for a better psu.

I have a tester i just never have used it on a psu before. Here is a picture of the bios voltages
