Fried motherboard help please

So whilst trying to get my case fans to work I, without thinking, plugged the 4 pin fan connector from my case fan controls to the motherboard. When I switched it on it popped and smoke came from the area where the 4 pin was connected. Computer still switches on however no signal is sent to my monitor and it switches off and tries again ever 10 seconds or so. My question is has this ONLY fried my motherboard or is it possible for my CPU, power supply and GPU to also have been damaged. I cant see any visable damage on the surface of my motherboard however i'm no expert. I'm running a - fatal1ty z97 killer/3.1 motherboard - i5 4690k, any information or help would be greatly appreciated thanks

You won't know if anything else got toasted until you try it with a new motherboard.

But given your description, probably not. Probably.
