friggin nec....

hello again...this is about a nec monitor...
it is a nec vd-569
when i downloaded the monitor drivers from nec's website, they didnt have specific drivers for specific monitors, they just had one thing, which was supposed to have the drivers for all nec monitors..
however, when i tried to install it, the drivers for my monitor were not in the folder that i unzipped the file to..there were other nec monitors, but mine was not listed. is there another driver that i can use that will give me the right performance of my monitor?
any suggestions....are greatly appreciated..

I cannot find the part number you mention on the NEC web site?? I suspect it is an older 15" monitor that is only capable of 800 x 600 resolution. If that is the case, and you want to run higher resolutions, you do not need a driver, you need a new monitor capable of displaying higher resolutions.

no....you dont understand...i am running the monitor at 1024*768 right now...fine.....picture is great and all
there is 5 buttons across the front panel; recall, adj. left, adj. right, select, and power. there is 8 leds to the left of that.
it isnt that old....the monitor was made in 1998....so it cant be that old....
and i cant get a straight response out of nec....
i dont know...last night, i tried using as many of the nec drivers that i could before i went to sleep, and none of them seemed to make it work well, so right now i am using the standard 1024*768 windows driver. it works ok, but i like to have the right drivers installed for my stuff.
the monitor works great, and has a very nice picture.

when i first tried using it, it recognized it as the old monitor that i had on here...a packard bell.
the monitor IS plug and play tho.....the back panel says it is....
i dont know what is going on with nec....

oh..another thing...some of the writing on the back panel is in what appears to be german...
i dont know if that is anything important....because there is also english writing on there...
i am confused about this monitor...

Since it works with the Windows driver there is no real reason to get in a tizzy over having the NEC driver. 1024x768 is a pretty good resolution. It should be easy enuff to live with.
