Question Front panel and rear panel for surround sound

I was wondering whether it was possible to create surround sound with two sets of speakers. I have one set on my desk plugged into my back panel and one set at the back of my room plugged into the front panel. They play audio simultaneously so I have left/right audio with them but is it possible to have my front speakers to play frontal audio and my rear speakers to play rear audio (essentially creating quadraphonic sound)?
 
I have a Asus X370 pro motherboard. I plugged the rear speakers into the rear speakers port on the back however a different problem has arised. When testing i can hear tones from all 4 speakers separately (i.e. I have quadraphonic sound). However on Google Chrome, Tidal and Spotify only front sound is coming through, the rear sound is not. I have tested it using a surround sound clip, but on those applications I only have front stereo sound. I have tried the speaker fill option to no avail. Any other suggestions?
