Hello,

So I bought 15 of these from a school out here. I got rid of 14 and kept 1. They all have the original components. All of them works from the get go except for this 1. So I will start from the beginning. I go to install Windows 10 from a USB stick (plugged in the back). At some point shortly after all of the Windows updates were installed, I realized that all of the lights that border the front USB ports were not on. Only the 1st one closest to the power button and the one farthest from the power button. The lights were on around those two but they did not work. It would detect the thumb drive but would say that there was a problem reading it. I am not sure at what point this happened. The orange error triangle with the exclamation point in it was not flashing at this point. It could have been from the 1st start up.

I do believe that the component itself is not broke. Everytime during start up all of the USB ports on the front light up, when its doing its systems check during start up. So I started to do some research and I was told to put an empty drive in the USB port closest to the power butten and a diagnostic file would automatically upload to the drive. I followed all of the instructions on the Lenovo support forum and nothing happened. I took this to the Lenovo support commuynity and they couldnt help me. Anyway whoile I'm reading I come across something that tells me its an I/O firmware issue. This is one of the files I downloaded.

When i run the sio and fpio fw utility, I get an error that says fail to check fpio fw [1]. Now before I ran that utility the first USB port was blinking and the last from the power button was on. After I ran the utility the light closest to the power button was now longer on after a restar and I think at this time we got the orange flashing error triangle.

But the download button is not there under options like it is for everything else. I also updated the bios I believe. I have included pictures and I thank you in advance...NVM about the pictures I dont see a butten to upload from your pc

If you want us to look through images of your own, host them on a site akin to Imgur, then pass on a link for us to see.

I also updated the bios I believe.
For the sake of relevance, what BIOS version are you on for your prebuilt?

As for your predicament, I came across this;

it's probable that the board is the issue or in effect, the BIOS.

Front panel USB ports typically have a little micro PCB that is made cheaply and susceptible to failures.

My home built PCIe3 system with a major name brand case is like this. One USB port is dead.
