Front Right 5.1 surround sound speaker NOT working

just got a 5.1 usb channel adapter for my surround sound and i plug it all in to test (via control panel >> sound >> configure >> test) and all the speakers work except the front right one. I switched the right and left and tried it again (this time the left speaker didnt work but the right one did) so its not the SPEAKER that isn't working but rather the PORT from the sub-woofer. Looked up if anyone else had this problem and i couldn't find anything so here i am! any advice? Thanks.
