Hi guys, after years of dreaming about having an FSX rig I'm finally going to get one (Birthday soon) and after years of looking on forums
I've comprised this list:
i5 2500K
GTX 650Ti
Asus P8Z77-V LK
8Gb DDR3 1866Mhz
1Tb 7200RPM
OCZ 650W PSU
I plan to run addons such as PMDG, Captain sim...etc and addon scenerys and want to achive 30Fps+ on high if not ulra high settings.
I am planning to OC to 4Ghz but I'm not sure if the GPU of the PSU are up to it but being a teenager I'm on a budgit :fou:
So what so we think?
Thanks in advance!
Mike

I agree with what is said above ^. Also, where are you getting your intel i5? If you go to microcenter you can get a 3.3 GHz one for about $160, which is much less than the $200 + ones at newegg, tigerdirect, ect. Then you could spend that money on a better gpu, like a 660 ti.

Brother do NOT dare overclock unless you have cooling. Your PSU & GPU will be fine with it, but don't you dare turn the dial up on that 2500k UNLESS you get a good aftermarket cooler.

Needing to do a build here soon before I start ground school. I don't wanna spend too much $ just to have super fancy graphics, just wanna hold good object auto generation(trees, buildings ect) at max setting and hold a FPS of ~20.

For now, my pile is running at base minimum, which is working I guess cause I don't need graphics, just functionality to familiarize myself before I actually start going for my pilot licence.
