function of SSD

hi gamers out there..i just want to ask about function of sdd in gaming rig. i want to build gaming pc and put HDD and SSD. how do I know that any games start up by SSD not HDD..because SSD and HDD use same sata port..correct if Im wrong

and one more..do gamers start up windows by SSD also?

SSD - the OS and your basic applications
HDD - whatever does not fit on the SSD, or does not need the speed of the SSD

Games will run from whatever drive you install them on. Normally, people will install the OS and most frequently used programs on the SSD (C:\ drive) and store data and install lesser used programs onto the HDD (D:\ drive). When you install your games, it will normally default to a C: drive install location.

Yes. A 120GB is plenty for the OS, and quite a few applications apart from newer games.
