FX-6300 ram support?

Long story short, building a new rig.

I got 2 new sticks of Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2400ghz of DDR3 RAM, would I be able to run that with an AMD FX-6300?

This is only my second build and I haven't built in a while, please be gentle.

Yes, you need to enable AMD's equivalent of XMP profile via bios.

Yes you can run it with that cpu.

Question though. did you buy these, or where they a gift? I can understand you wanting to use them if a gift. However, the FX platform is pretty much finished. If AMD is what you desire and you did purchase them, return for ddr4 memory, and build a Ryzen system, which is way better. Just a thought.

But again yes it will work with the FX 6300.

I got them on sale, so I still have my corsair 2x4GB that runs at 1600Mhz.

DDR3 is now EOL and I ended up selling my 2400Mhz DDR3 2x8Gb for 30% more than what I paid for it. Just keep that in mind lol.

Also, I'm building a new rig because my last mobo peaced out on me. Currently working with an MSI 970A gaming pro carbon mobo. The fucker still won't turn on with hat damn DRAM LED blaring at me. But that's a whole 'nother thread right there.
