So i recently bought fx 8350. It worked fine when i installed it. i got 27c at idle and 55c at load.It was running at 4.1ghz. .
When i turned the power off for 2 hours after that it was running hot i got 50c at idle and 70-80 at load. It was running at 3.8ghz

I reapplied the thermal paste it worked fine but after i turned it off and came back it was running hot again.

Solution
if not the cooler it maybe a bad chip or the boards bios is not doing something right for the chip ?? like overvolting it - undervolting it wrong bios ??

the bios required for that chip is M5A99X EVO BIOS 1604

so is that the bios your running ??

Load temps are from what program?

heres something we were looking at with them amd temps with using the thermal margin of the chips ??

can you download that amd program and see where you chip stands in it thermal margin ???

''I ran AMD Overdrive and did some research on what it represents. My max Thermal margin was 23.8C So the way I understand it is I'm 23.8C away from the chips max thermal temp. Which is pretty good i think? Now that I let prime run while seeing 70C I actually started to get some heat out of the cooling system. 100F The funny thing is, I read the sticky and understood it but with so many people still saying they are overheating even though the sticky says otherwise I just followed. For anyone reading this PLEASE READ THE STICKY ON UNDERSTANDING AMD TEMERATURES.''

you maybe ok if its well below the margin ??? or your temp monitor is misreading things ???

At idle thermal marking is 20.4c
when i open google chrome it goes to -5.0c.
if the cpu usage is 100% it takes 5 seconds until my pc shutsdown or freezes

I would go with the cooler install is goofed on some way [misfitting too tight too lose - poor thermal paste job- too low fan profile ] then look over the chrome articles on how it can pound a cpu at full and not release anything to other programs

if chrome is hogging cpu and windows core program or what not needs some and cant get it will shut down [not enough resources ] not only will it hog cpu but it can do memory as well -- its easy to google and find

Maybe something happened to the cooling system when you switched it off. But this does sound very strange as lots of people are having this problem with different setups. They all seem to happen very randomly. I don't know if this is a windows thing as they all seem to be windows pcs.

But yeah, check the cooling system and the thermal paste.
