I would like help on what memory is recommended for my Dell Optiplex 9010. I am looking for 2 - 8GB DIMMs but maybe a quad of 4GB DIMMs.

I am not stuck on G.Skill but I don't want cheap memory.

TIA!

Hello,

Memory Upgrade for Dell OptiPlex 9010 - It supports PC3-10600 (1333MHz) and PC3-12800 (1600MHz) DDR3 Non-ECC DIMMs. Go with 1600MHz. Anything above 1600MHz is not a good idea, it might work as I haven't tried it yet. But the thing with DELL systems is that you will have limited BIOS, which might not help you if you go with higher speeds. IMO, 2x8GB is better than 4x4GB as the former config will run smoothly and causing less stress to the Memory Controller.

Brand wise anything will do (Samsung, Corsair, Kingston, Micron, Hynix, GSkill, patriot, crucial etc) as long it is not generic memory. Check sites like newegg, kingston, crucial, amazon, eBay, bestbuy, memorystock.com etc you might get yourself a nice deal from any of them.

Cheers, mate!!!
