However this kit is Hynix and the timings aren't quite as tight as i'm looking for. The equivalent Samsung b-die kit is 16-16-16-36 but i'm sure it will cost a great deal more when in stock. I could use some advice because though the Hynix kit is an excellent value for the money, but at the same time I understand you get what you pay for. I'm willing to spend money for a good kit to go with my R9 3950x. How much of difference in performance/stability do you think there will be?

I would have no problem buying that Hynix kit as long as G.Skill lists it as compatible with your MB and CPU.
Input your MB and CPU here and make sure it is compatible before you buy it.

I personally have a 3200 G.Skill F4-3200C16D-16GTZR @16-17-17-17-36-56 (lower binned Samsung B die) kit in my 2600 rig and I am happy with it.
I also have G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB (2 x 8GB) F4-3600C16D-16GVKC @ 3733 MHz 16-19-19-19-36-56 (Hynix D Die) in my 3700x rig and I am also very happy with it.

For me the price to performance difference for the better Samsung B die kits just isn't worth it.

Thanks man, one of my next posts was going to be on another thread about x570 motherboards. My plan is to go with the R9 3950x & Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master, but that isn't set in stone. I'm torn between that, the Meg Ace and the Asus Strix.

Both kits are compatible according to that calculator. Further research concluded that the difference between 16-16-16 b-die & 16-18-18 Hynix is negligible. I definitely could use the cost savings for other areas of the build and I don't think i'll be overclocking the ram, nor should I need to. Don't get me wrong, i'm definately going to use a-xmp to ensure I can get 3600mhz.
