I am currently working on a gaming rig and I have narrowed down the choice of memory to one of the following below:

Should I go with the G. Skill Sniper with is for gaming ( or at least advertised), or should I save a few bucks and go with the HyperX Fury which is at the same time rate to work at a slower speed? I play to use my for a combination of web/design and gaming with some overclocking later on down the road. Any suggestions?

You do not need 16GB for gaming.
Get whichever is cheaper, as 1600 vs 1866 will not offer a worthwhile difference.

Edit; I thought they were the same speed at first sorry for the confusion if you read what I first typed, hah!

I know I dont need the 16gb for gaming, but I plan to do a lot of rendering, so the additional memory is something I'm planning for long term. Thanks for the input!

What CPU and mobo (and no 1600/9 isn't better than 1866/10 - the wider bandwidth of 1866 outperforms the tighter CL of the 1600 sticks by a slight margin). If you have a good CPU, the Snipers can easily run 1866/10 and will be a bit stronger still than the Fury sticks. Also to even run the Furys you'll want a mobo that supports PnP since the Fury sticks operate off that rather than XMP

I currently have a MSI MPower Max AC and I play to get an intel i7 quad core 4790k. for the sake of being able to utilize XMP, I am leaning towards the g skill.

Thanks! BTW, I'm thinking about getting the hyper x fan cooler for my build. Do you thing there will be any clearance issues? I've tried looking at the specs, but I'm still uncertain.
