Heyo! Somewhat new builder here. I was wanting to upgrade to an enthusiast build and I found on Gigabytes support page that this Motherboard can support the AMD FX 9590 CPU, despite quite a lot of the community saying so. I've had people say the board would undervolt it on purpose or that it would explode with the heat of the sun if not done right. SO I think I'd just like to ask directly if the GA 990FXA UD3 R5 (Rev 1.0) Will work with this particular CPU.

And before you say "Just get an 8370." No. I'm an overachiever, and if I'm going to go all out on an AMD Processor, I'm going to do it to the max. (Unless it explodes, that could be a problem.)

It's a waste of money (the 9590) been there done that, even when released and was priced over twice as much as a 4770K at the time, the 4770K beat it at everything. Require water cooling, a heavty duty PSU and an an 8350 or like my 8370 runs right with it at lower price and without the additional power or an AIO. Of course it's your call, but you are just wasting money better spent on other components.

Well it would be if it wasn't the same price as an 8350 right now at the local parts store, and I already have a loop installed in my pc for overclocking the 6300, which is starting to fail. Is the CPU compatible with the board or will it blow it up into oblivion? I also have enough power to run it stock with the current supply I have, though overclocking would require a more heavy duty one, like you said.

I have a Corsair RM750 powering two R9 270x's in Crossfire, it would be borderline from what I've added up, but it should be possible if the mobo supports it.

All right, I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the help!
