hey guys i have a problem installing my windows XP over my windows vista OS because XP wont pick up SATA HDD but i was wondering which Driver i should intergrate onto my XP disc to get it to recognize, can somone tell me which one to download

XP doesn't need a special driver to pick up an SATA hard drive when the controller is set to "IDE" mode. Assuming you're in AHCI or RAID mode, you'll need the AHCI/RAID driver for your chipset. Often you won't find an AHCI driver listed, but will find the AHCI version in the RAID driver package. This should have came with your motherboard CD.

I think i have found the drivers but it is all seperate files that arent exe or anything like that, they are also the same as what i downloaded off the gigabyte site, should i just use nlite to intergrate these to windows XP will this allow windows xp to install over vista??

Correct, they won't be .exe's, probably something like AHCI.sys and a few other .inf and .sys files.

I'm not sure how to integrate them, I just use a floppy drive

yeah i think im going to have to go buy a floppy drive and do it because nothing else is working, thanks tho great help

I always recommend to everyone that they load both the Intel and jMicron 'F6' drivers on every OS install; once they're in, they don't require that you use AHCI or RAID, but then your options are 'open' forever; on the other hand, if you need to add them later, they're a real PITA to get installed to a running OS...

I always recommend disabling the JMIcron controller.

ROFL! Yeah - there's that, if you don't need the extra ports - compared to the Intels, it's kind of like the slime left behind by a garden slug! I'm using seven of the eight on my board, and the eighth is an external e-sata for initializing drives, fixing my continually bolixed-up Sysco NAS share, and the like; next time, I swear I'm gonna bite the bullet and pop for a good, eight port PCIx hardware RAID card; when I did my current workstation, there weren't many 3 slot boards; the ones there were seemed to have more than their share of problems; and, the RAID cards were reputed not to 'play nice' with 48xx X2 cards with four monitor connectors...
